You Hit Send — Then Lost All Control. Not Anymore.
Peeklit now includes password protection, email verification, link expiration, and download blocking on every plan — including Free.
The moment you hit send, you lose control
You've been there. You spend all week on a proposal — pricing, strategy, timelines, everything dialed in. You send it off. And then you realize: you have no idea who's reading it, who forwarded it to their boss, or whether it's still floating around six months later with outdated pricing.
Peeklit already solved the visibility problem. You could see who opened your document, when, from where, and how far they read. But visibility without control is only half the story.
What if someone forwards your link to a competitor? What if a prospect downloads your deck and shops it around? What if your pricing proposal is still live a year after the deal closed?
You could see it all happening. You just couldn't stop it.
Today: four access controls, every plan, including Free
We're shipping four access controls that give you full command over who sees your documents and what they can do with them. And unlike most document tracking tools, every one of these is included on every plan — including Free.
Password protection
Some documents aren't meant for everyone. An M&A pitch deck. A partnership agreement. A pre-launch product roadmap.
Lock any Peeklit link behind a password. Only people who know it can view your content. Share the password through a separate channel — a text, a call, a Signal message — and you've got a clean separation between the link and the access.
If someone forwards your link, it doesn't matter. Without the password, all they'll see is a locked screen.
Email verification
Sometimes you need more than a password. You need to know exactly who viewed your document — not just that someone with the link opened it.
Email verification requires every viewer to enter their email address and confirm it with a one-time code before they can access your link. No anonymous browsing. Every view is tied to a verified identity.
And because we know people try to game these systems: disposable email domains are automatically blocked. No guerrillamail, no tempmail, no throwaway addresses. If they want to see your document, they verify with a real email.
Link expiration
Not every document should live forever. A pricing proposal from Q1 shouldn't be circulating in Q4. A time-sensitive offer loses its urgency if the link never dies.
Set an expiration date on any link and it automatically becomes inaccessible after that date. The viewer sees a clean "this link has expired" message — no broken pages, no confusion.
This is especially powerful for:
- Proposals with deadlines — "This pricing is valid until May 15th." Set the expiration. Mean it.
- Confidential materials — Board decks, investor updates, pre-launch specs that should disappear after the review window.
- Seasonal offers — Promotions that shouldn't outlive the campaign.
Download blocking
You want prospects to read your pitch deck. You don't want them to save it, forward the PDF, or print it for their files. Download blocking lets you share documents as view-only.
Viewers can scroll through every page in the Peeklit viewer, but the download button is gone. They can't right-click and save. They can't export. The document stays in your viewer, under your control.
This is about protecting your intellectual property without making the viewing experience worse. The reader gets a clean, professional document viewer. You get peace of mind.
Stack them
Here's where it gets powerful: you can combine multiple controls on the same link.
Password + email verification + expiration + no downloads. That's a link that requires a password to enter, verifies the viewer's identity, expires on a specific date, and prevents anyone from saving a copy. Four layers of protection, configured in seconds.
Use one control or all four. Mix and match based on the sensitivity of each document.
Why we made this free
Most document tracking platforms — DocSend, PandaDoc, and others — gate access controls behind their most expensive plans. Password protection alone can cost $15/user/month or more.
We think that's backwards. Document security isn't a premium feature. It's a basic expectation.
Every Peeklit plan includes all four access controls. Free plan, Pro plan, doesn't matter. If you share a document through Peeklit, you can protect it. Period.
